Her research focuses on the fundamental engineering underpinning development and scaling challenges of upstream processing for vaccines, monoclonal antibodies and cell and gene therapy products. She has applied her expertise in the use of advanced optical and imaging techniques for the measurement and quantification of flow characteristics and mixing dynamics for bioreactors with different agitation mechanisms (rocked, stirred, shaken).

She has pioneered microscale methods for rapid process development, adapting these for quasi-perfusion of monoclonal antibodies, and will apply her expertise to novel vaccine technologies within the Hubs.
